She received her Bachelor’s of Social Science in Psychology and Criminology, and also received a Diploma in Project Management and Social Service Work. She has experience working in health-care settings, for profit, and non-profit organizations across several cities.
Throughout her career, Amanda learned how to provide specialized, client-centered services to several vulnerable populations including: youth, persons who experience chronic or episodic homelessness, older adults, persons with special needs and different abilities, persons with mental health illnesses, and persons who are dependent on substances. Through a non-judgemental, inclusive approach, she applies a harm-reduction approach. Amanda believes in the Housing First Model, where her previous team was recognized and evaluated by Dr. Sam Tsemberis and the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH) for being one of the leading Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) pilots in the Region of Peel.
Amanda believes in building partnerships and collaborating with other agencies in order to create a strong sense of community. Her co-workers appreciate her love of helping others, positive attitude, passion and leadership.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys being with family and friends, essential oils, travelling, learning new things, book club, running, living green, and cooking!
