Michael has over 10 years working with youth and families in a variety of capacities, ranging from youth justice and supporting a young person’s successful process of reintegration, to supporting young parents with their transition to parenthood. Michael also developed a young father’s group in Scarborough, the first of its kind to empower young father’s by bringing value to their new role as parent. A strong advocate for youth mental health and healthy family dynamics, Michael has received awards for the work with young fathers in Scarborough as well as for the work in developing a youth group at a local Scarborough high school.

When not working, he is an avid writer of poetry and personal reflection pieces, collects cookbooks, participates in a variety of sports, and creates short documentaries on ordinary people impacting the world in amazing ways.
