StepStones for Youth (www.stepstonesforyouth.com) is an innovative and dynamic charitable organization in Toronto dedicated to providing intervention and sustainable support for children and youth. Many of these youth are exiting the foster care and group home system or are currently living in foster homes and shelters.

The Opportunity
StepStones for Youth is seeking a Full-Time (40 hours per week) passionate and motivated Major Gifts Development Coordinator to support the transformation of the organization and develop opportunities for new growth potential.
This position will work on the development and implementation of new fundraising initiatives and will focus on growing our fundraising efforts through donor acquisition, stewardship, prospecting, and CRM management. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the ideal candidate will collaborate with senior leadership to ensure success.
What you will be responsible for:
- Major Gift Prospecting and Stewardship: Identify new major gift prospects and grow support from the current group of major donors, while identifying and implementing new donor giving opportunities.
- Proposal Writing and Reporting: Identify new opportunities and lead the development of proposals and completion of reports as required to secure funding.
- Event Coordination: Work with vendors, venues, and volunteers to execute fundraising events in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Database Management: Input donations and generate reports in the database/CRM (DonorPerfect).
Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and address concerns. Be able to utilize data collected from our database to enhance our fundraising efforts. - Communications: Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to develop ongoing engagement with donors through: Social media and email updates, creation of impact reports and support documents, coordination of thank-you messages to donors.
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a personable and experienced fundraising professional who thrives when interacting with people, whether in-person, on the phone, or online. The ideal candidate can manage a wide variety of tasks while maintain a high-level attention to detail. They are comfortable engaging with a wide variety of individuals, an excellent communicator, and are ready to exceed the needs of our supporters.
Additionally, the ideal candidate has:
- Post-Secondary education in Fundraising or in a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience in a fundraising role within a related non-profit environment.
- CAE (Certified Association Executive), CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive), CAGP (Gift Planning affiliation) or equivalent is an asset.
- Experience with CRM, data analytics, and donor databases, with DonorPerfect experience as an asset.
- Proven experience in researching, writing and submitting successful grant proposals, as well as managing grant reporting requirements to ensure compliance with funding guidelines, and using CRM data to help identify new major donors and ways of giving.
- Direct experience working with donors is preferred.
- Strong organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt effectively and independently under the pressure of tight timelines, competing priorities and emergent issues.
- Highly effective written and oral communication, problem solving, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
- A thorough understanding of anti-oppression, anti-Black and Indigenous racism values and principles and an appreciation of and ability to work with diverse communities.
- Ability to work independently and able to deliver results with minimal supervision.
This position is in Toronto and is a hybrid position, requiring both in-office and in-person interactions
Salary: $70,000-$85,000 (dependent on experience)
